Can you move your hip like Shakira? She has no idea either how she can move her hip like that, she admits to Glamour, “I’m not a trained dancer, but I grew up in a culture that revolves around dance.” A Colombian singer and songwriter amazed us not only with her hip, but more to her powerful voice.

She remembered her dad was telling her mother, “Listen to her voice, It’s really powerful,” on their way to the beach in the car. Shakira recalls, “He said, “Potente.” Powerful. I was probably five.”

Having the talent doesn’t mean the career path she walked is easy. Hard work and hard work…
“Hard work. Determination. I consider myself a laborer, building my career brick over brick under the sun.”

She had preserver for what she’s belief she can, while a teacher didn’t let her to sing in a choir, she proved that she can in her way.

“The music teacher thought I sang like a goat. It was kind of devastating. A few months after that, I participated in a music contest and won. I took my little trophy to school and rubbed it in his nose. I said to him, “What do you say now?””

Talking about determination, she cares much about education for kids, she explains,
“[When I was 18] I established the Barefoot Foundation in Colombia. Since then, we’ve been focusing on providing high-quality education for kids. The parents receive psychological support and occupational training. I’ve seen over the years that education transforms the lives of not only the kids but also families and entire communities…. [I also co-founded the group] ALAS, which puts early childhood development initiatives on the agenda of every Latin American leader.”

It is great for celebrity who involved in many charity to help many people, the 32 years old Grammy Awards winner feels that as her responsibility, and took advantage the cameras surround her to good things.
“It’s a duty—a responsibility. I’m out there, and I have cameras on me. Why not speak about things that are more relevant than my own work?”

Shakira can be considered as Colombian Carrie Bradshaw, especially about her romance life with Antonio de la Rúa, the son of President Argentine, Fernando de la Rúa, that made headline news throughout Latin America. And even in March 2001, he proposed her, wedding bells has not been rang yet.

“Why fix what’s not broken? [Antonio de la Rúa] is my partner in life. We don’t feel that a written document is going to bring us any closer. I’d like to consider myself his eternal girlfriend. But I do want to have kids with him. I think maybe after this tour, we’re going to concentrate on that a little bit.”

Can not wait to the good news…
