On the last month of 2009, President Barack Obama, accepts the Nobel Prize award ceremony at Oslo City Hall in Norway, today, December 10.

The Nobel Committee’s reason for awarding the peace prize to Obama is for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples and cited his push for nuclear disarmament.

Even many people questioning whether he deserves the Noble Prize or not, Obama notes that winning the prize “was a great surprise” to him after his meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, he continues, “I have no doubt that there are others who may be more deserving.”

It’s the third time in history a sitting president has received the prestigious award.
