She is Tom Brady’s biggest fan, his mother – Galynn Brady – had to sit out her son’s season due to illness. Galynn has been fighting an undisclosed type of cancer for the past 18 months.
Finally she managed to attend Superbowl LI and Brady railed her by winning the game for her mother.
Brady told Westwood One’s Jim Gray before the kickoff Sunday, “She’s the one I want to win it for.”
At the Superbowl MVP press confrence Monday morning, Tom Brady explained how his father had been there with her “every step of the way” and Brady realized the great example that his parents had set for him.
“She’s been though a lot. Way harder than what I went through last night, what the team went through. All families go through challenging times personally, I’m just happy to be able to celebrate.”
Brady mentioned his hero when he was asked by a child reporter during the Super Bowl’s media extravaganza Jan 31. And he answered his hero is his dad.
“That’s a great question. I think my dad is my hero, because he’s someone I look up to every day,” Brady said, pausing as he fought back tears. He looked down, adjusted his microphone and added simply: “My dad.”
He said his father had been through “a lot” but struck an optimistic tone on WEEI Monday.
“Mom’s doing better. She’s been through a lot, my dad’s been through a lot,” he said. “It’s been a really hard year for them. Our prayers are with her.”
Before New England took the victory against Atlanta in Super Bowl LI, Patriots owner Robert Kraft talk to MVP, about decision to dedicate the game to Tom Brady’s mom, win or lose.
“I spoke to him in the locker room before the game, and I said, we’ve got to win this one for our mom,” Kraft told reporters. “I know how important his mom is, and she’s been going through chemotherapy and radiation, and this is the first game she’s come to. She came here.”
What parents of Super Bowl MVP and Patriot quarterback say about their son, “I’m just absolutely tickled pink for him and for the Patriots and for all of New England who supported him,” said Tom Brady, Sr. “It’s the best ever. I’m speechless … it was so spectacular, and so fun, and so nerve-wracking, and so awesome.”
And the brave and proud mom, Galynn Brady says, “I’m overwhelmed! I was just praying. All I did was pray, the whole game, just pray.”
Winning for his mother, supported and inspired by all the girls in his life, clearly for Gisele Bündchen husband said that family means a lot for him.

“My wife, my mom, my sisters, my daughter, my nieces — they’re all here,” he told Gray. “So it’s just so special.”
Tom Brady has 3 children, John Edward Thomas, his son with Bridget Moynahan and Benjamin Brady 8-years-old, and Vivian Lake Brady 5-years-old, his children with Gisele Bündchen.
