Julie Chen, 39, the Early Show and Big Brother Host, announced the pregnancy in April and shared the baby’s sex in July, today she shares the baby boy, Charlie Moonves.

Charlie was born at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 24th in Los Angeles.

Her husband Les Moonves which is CBS Corporation President and CEO also has three children, Adam, Michael and Sara, from his previous marriage.

From the CBS statement says, “Mother and child are doing well.” The baby was born a week early as Chen due October 4.

Julie Chen once shared about how sweet her husband has been since she’s pregnant.
“He’s been patient with me, especially with my ‘mommy brain.’ I went to go pick him up from work [one night] and I was sitting in front of the wrong building! He was laughing about it, so he’s been very patient with me. He came with me to all my doctor’s appointments.”

The host also tells about the Chinese herbs that could bring her back into shape again.
“My mom has that all planned out for me. [She’s recommending] these Chinese herbs that, according to my sister, who has two boys, it’s the most nasty thing you’re ever going to drink and my mother is going to insist upon it,”told Julie, “I don’t know if it’s a daily thing but it looks like she went into the woods and got sticks and leaves and boiled them into this tea. It smells nasty. It’s usually very bitter tasting. It’s supposed to get your body back into top shape. It’s supposed to heal your body quickly after going through labor.”

In Chinese tradition, there’s a belief that after get labor, mom has to stay on  the bed, for 40 days. It is the time for woman’s body to recovery by herself. But for Julie Chen, a working woman and modern that can not leave the show too long, it’s only weird rules.

“I have all these weird rules my mother was going to impose on me — like you can’t leave your house for a month” after giving birth.”

Congratulation for the couple.
