Padma Lakshmi About Her Inspiration for Baby’s Name

Having a baby is a bless for everyone, especially for the Top Chef judge, Padma Lakshmi. It is something she has been waiting for long, and now she carried her baby after win battle from endometriosis.

Wondering what would be the name for the beautiful judge’s baby? Would it be inspired from fruits or vegetables, or perhaps food? Well she swears it’s not “Pomegranateon the Hammerstein Ballroom red carpet in New York for Alicia Keys’s charitable Keep A Child Alive’s annual Black Ball.

“I just want to see how the baby looks when it comes, and then I’ll have some ideas.”

Based on her background, Lakshmi, 39, indicates that the baby’s name will be Indian influenced.

“The name will have to do with my family,” she says. “I don’t think it’s going to be called ‘Pomegranate’ or ‘Atlanta.’”

As Indian, she embraces her traditions and not get influenced by other celebrities. She hasn’t buy the baby’s need yet, she explains,

“I’m Indian, so we don’t buy a whole bunch of stuff before the baby is born, because we want the baby to be born first, ‘Not the cart before the horse.’ ”

She keeps her weigh gains normally, as pregnant mom, she eats “the same, just more often.”
“Everything from movie theater nachos to spinach and apple salad. Everything. I’m not eating so much more. You only need 300 more calories. It’s not a reason to pig out.”

A mom to be whom will welcome her bundle of joy due in spring is keep silent about father of the baby. But she told us, “I’m extremely happy, and I feel really blessed.”
