Brad Paisley got two pleasant gives, winning best male vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley was due to give birth that very same night.
“[Kimberly] is doing fine,” Paisley, 36, told reporters via teleconference Sunday. “Believe it or not, April 5 was our due date.”
Still, even as late as last week, Paisley thought he’d be able to make it to the awards, convinced his wife would give birth a few days early. “She’s laying low,” he said of the still-pregnant Kimberly.
Whenever his second child arrives – the Paisley’s already have a son, Huck, 2 – he or she had better be ready for some trademark Paisley punking, his pals said Sunday at the ACMs.
“He pranks everybody,” friend Jimmy Wayne told PEOPLE. “He’s probably going to prank [his children] now. They’re not even going to understand what’s going on. He’s pranking them in the womb.”
Darius Rucker, who just ended his tour with Paisley, called the singer a “good family guy,” then added, “I bet any amount of money that his kids will get pranked several times.”
Go mama, you can do it. Brad is accompanying. No worry
