Sandra Bullock and her husband of almost four years, Jesse James, 40. After that she’s become a stepmom of Chandler, 13, Jesse Jr, 10, and Sunny, 5, which raised the inevitable questions — still unanswered — about whether she’d start a family of her own.

The star of The Proposal, said ; “You don’t have to give birth to someone to have a family. We’re all family, an extended family,” she says. “I’m not going to spend two seconds of my life wishing I had something I don’t. It’s hard to do it your way when you hear everyone else telling you to do it their way. I reamed out this idiot girl at some premiere once about this. I had just been talking to a friend who couldn’t conceive, and I saw her pain. And this girl said” — she affects a nasal whine — “‘I’m from Star magazine. Are you pregnant?’ And I went off on her. What if I couldn’t have kids? Do you know what that would make me feel like? I just want people to admit that there’s no one way to live your life. Of course, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I could go home today and go, I haven’t started my period.”

Sandra revealed earlier this year that she feels fortunate to have her stepkids in her life, saying, “I don’t see the difference in having blood-related kids or children who come with your husband. I am very blessed.”

Though Sandra, 44, is happy with her family just as it is, she adds that you never know what the future holds!

“Right now, I’m kind of getting into my childhood,” says Bullock, by way of explanation. “I didn’t have a teenage or early-20s experience that was free and without worry. I missed the screw-everything, have-a-good-time phase. I was worried that if I didn’t stay on track and work, work, work, I was never going to accomplish anything. Now I’m trying to have fun and have the freedom to do nothing.”

‘I’m going to make the ranch all organic, self-sustaining. We’re going to drill our own wells!’ I didn’t know anything. To grow organic is hard and expensive. It’s a good lesson.” Fixing dirt bikes, making movies, supervising construction sites, growing avocados — is there anything Sandra Bullock won’t tackle?

Good way to enjoy life, taste the freedom.
