Valentine’s coming, and it’s time to show our love to whom we loved. For Channing Tatum, 29, Valentine day is something to remembered since he got a sweet surprise from his ex-fiance, Jenna Dewan (and his wife today after the wedding bell rang on July last year), and it was “the best present” for him.
“It was right when we had just got back from doing Step Up and I was still kind of new to Los Angeles. I didn’t really feel like I had that many friends, and it was my birthday.
“We came back from somewhere, like grocery shopping or something, and then pretty much every person that I know in LA was at the house. She threw a surprise birthday – and she was just showing me that I do have friends and family here. And it was just beautiful because she was like, ‘Look, you do have a family here. This is your home now.'”
What a sweet surprise for Dear John star.
He’d been asked is it the true love he has for his wife, since he’s young and has legions of female fans.
“First of all, I think all love is true love,” he says. “If you care, it’s true.”
Met with Jenna on the set of their film, Set Up, then got married in such young age (for Hollywood) and “just got out of a three-years relationship and really wasn’t ready to get into anything”, he tells the reason,
“She just makes me better all the time. She makes me want to grow and challenge myself,” he says. “But what really threw it over the edge is when I knew that making her happy made me happiest of all. It just wasn’t about me anymore.”
He needs her because he loves her, he says, “You hear about love at first sight. This was definitely something.”
And he shares the tips for guys to make your mate happy, especially for the coming Valentine..
“My best relationship advice is if you need advice then you’re not in a good relationship,” he says. “Beyond that, just pay attention. I know when I get up in the morning if my wife had good or bad dreams. I pay attention.”
Not only that, Tatum gives advice to people who had a broken heart,
“Many people just don’t know what love is,” Tatum says. “And then you end up blaming someone else when it didn’t work out. Probably it’s really your fault.”
It’s a wise advice from a man who had a broken heart on Valentine day,
“I broke up with my high school sweetheart of like three years on Valentine’s Day. But it was mutual. It wasn’t one of those, ‘I hate you!’ It just was straight up like, ‘We should do this so we can go and grow into our own people.'”
