For daddy to be being the first time to experience with pregnancy and new baby things, could be “a little surreal.” Brad Mates, the lead vocalist of Emerson Drive is experiencing the unbelievable feeling for being a daddy next month.
His wife, Jana and him are expecting their first bundle of joy and the baby will be wrapped in blue. As the due date quickly approaching, Brad describes his feeling on Emerson Drive’s website.
“It’s a little surreal right now,” says the singer. “I still don’t believe that we’re going to be parents soon. I walk around the house now and see all these new toys, clothes, bottles, diapers, nursery … it’s like, ‘Where’s the baby?’ So until we bring him home, I can only wonder how it’s all going to feel. Jana and I are so excited for the baggy eyes and sleepless nights ahead … ohhh no!”
They have chosen the baby’s name for their son, Tyler. Brad and Jana tied the knot in October of 2008 and Jana’s twin sister, Jill, is married to Emerson Drive’s fiddle player, David Pichette. Jill and David are proud parents to daughter, Emma, born Nov. 21, 2008.
