Five months pregnant and Alicia Keys has had blessed her unborn baby in the traditional Zulu ceremony. Together with her fiancé Swizz Beatz, 31, they’re holding hands, joined the outdoor blessing near Durban on the country’s eastern coast, according to Dailymail.

The Grammy award winning singer and her unborn baby were given Zulu names while standing under a fig tree known as the ‘healing tree‘ by locals who believe it brings good fortune and health.

R&B diva was known about her concern to helping children with Aids and in return for her work with local children’s charity, Bobbi Bear director Jackie Bradfield said,

“Alicia has been made part of the tribal family because she really reached out to the people here. Two female priests who practise a mix of Christianity and tribal customs chose new names for her and the unborn child, as a mark of respect. The names were kept between them, but were chosen to reflect Alicia’s character.

‘Alicia had to do a special dance with drums banging in the background, and was embraced by abused children who she has helped. She was chosen for the ceremony as a thank-you, because she has done a lot to keep children’s lives afloat and for us to afford our support staff.

“Her partner came too – he held her hand and helped her sit down when she needed rest.”

A 29 years old star had wowed millions of people with her opening performance in World Cup at Johannesburg, South Africa. Through mirror.uk the actress and singer thrilled about being a mom.

“I can’t wait to become a mum. No question. It’s the most beautiful gift in the world. Truly a gift from God. I have an amazing mother – she is a best friend to me. And I would like to be the same to my child.”

Her deep concern to help youngsters whose parents have died of AIDS and the journey she had in Africa that inspired her, Alicia Keys’ heart moved to adopting.

“Adopting is definitely not out of the question. I would love to figure out the ways that could work for me. I felt I wanted to scoop up the children I met in Africa and take them home. At this point I kinda feel I have amazing brothers and sisters in Africa. Hopefully I can be their big sister who they know they can depend on and will always be there, fighting for them.”

“They will make a great family.”
