Days after days gone by, and Madonna still hoping and tried to win adoption Mercy. The 50-year-old singer had her adoption of Mercy James rejected by authorities, she has mounted a charm offensive to accompany her appeal against the decision.
The picture, released to media outlets around the world last night, is clearly designed to present Madonna the matriarch.
It was taken during her recent trip to the African country, Malawi.

The star also released an emotional email sent by her to Malawi’s Nation newspaper.
In it she wrote: ‘I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and healthcare possible.
‘And it’s my hope that she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country.
‘Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world.’ Judge Esimie Chombo recently turned down the singer’s latest adoption application because she didn’t meet the country’s 18 to 24 month residency requirement.
Within hours of the ruling, her lawyer filed a Notice of Appeal to the Supreme Court.
Friends last night painted a picture of Madonna falling apart under the stress of the adoption rejection, a desperate woman ready to do anything to win the appeal.
The friend said: ‘ Since the divorce ( from Guy Ritchie), Madonna’s mental state has wavered considerably. She has swung from screaming and shouting to being morose and shutting down’.
Again, I say, hopefully everything will be just fine for Mercy.
